Bayern Munich have been made the clear favourites to win the 2020-21 German Bundesliga title with the bookmakers.
After the 2019-20 campaign has just been finished, odds of 1/6 given by OddsGurun, have been given for Hansi Flick’s side to win the title for a ninth consecutive season.
The Bavarians got off to a slow start under Niko Kovac, before his replacement, initially for the short-term, Hansi Flick, got the ball rolling by guiding them to wins in 19 of their final 20 league matches, as well as completing the domestic double by beating Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the DFB Pokal final.
Bayern Munich’s attack may been even better next summer, with the arrival of Leroy Sane from Manchester City. Though the team are losing attackers Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho as their loan deals expire, as well as right-back Alvaro Odriozola, set to return to Real Madrid.
The champions boast the strongest squad in Germany and one of the best in Europe, with the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry, Thiago Alcantara, Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Muller, Alphonso Davies, Manuel Neuer, Benjamin Pavard and Kingsley Coman, among a wealth of depth and a number of promising youngsters breaking through at the end of the recently completed season.
The bookmakers’ odds have made Borussia Dortmund second favourites at 11/2. Thomas Tuchel’s side sneaked into second place in the final games of the campaign, finishing some 13 points behind the champions. Their defence certainly performed better after the restart, which had been one of their achilles heels during the first part of the season, as well as a problem in consistency.
RB Leipzig led last season’s campaign heading into the New Year before falling away. They have been made third favourites at 20/1. The sale of Timo Werner to Chelsea will come as a huge blow for any serious title challenge next season.
