The Saturday evening kickoff in the returning 2019-20 German Bundesliga season sees Eintracht Frankfurt hosting Borussia Monchengladbach.
Hosts Frankfurt start the weekend in the bottom half of the table having lost their last three games before the disruption, two of them 0-4.
Marco Rose’s side aren’t out of the title race completely; six points behind leaders Bayern Munich with nine games to go. They do face several bottom half sides to finish the season, with a trip to the Allianz Arena in the middle.
The two lineups for this evening’s game are confirmed as:
Kevin Trapp; Almamy Toure, David Abraham, Martin Hinteregger, Evan N’Dicka; Daichi Kamada, Djibril Sow, Stefan Ilsanker, Sebastian Rode, Filip Kostic; Bas Dost
Bas Dost will lead the line for the hosts with Filip Kostic the best attacking support. The Serbian left winger has four goals and eight assists this season whilst the Dutch striker’s only goal contributions are five goals. Martin Hiteregger has six goals from centre-back but this team is a shadow of the one that had Luka Jovic, Sebastian Haller and Ante Rebic 12 months ago.
It’s the defence Eintracht Frankfurt fans may fear the most in this game this evening as the visitors have named a strong attacking side.
Yann Sommer; Stefan Lainer, Matthias Ginter, Nico Elvedi, Ramy Bensebaini; Florian Neuhaus, Tobias Strobl; Alassane Plea, Jonas Hofmann, Marcus Thuram; Breel Embolo
Marco Rose appears to have named a 4-2-3-1 formation for the trip to the Commerzbank-Arena this afternoon. Ramy Bensebaini bombs forward from left-back whilst youngster Florian Neuhas will protect the back four alongside Tobias Strobl.
It looks as though Breel Embolo will lead the line for the visitors, with Marcus Thuram supporting down the left and Alassane Plea on the right. This trio has 21 Bundesliga goals between them this season.
