Erling Haaland scored again as Borussia Dortmund won their fifth game from six following the winter break with a 2-0 win away to Werder Bremen on Saturday.
The Norwegian striker became the first player in German Bundesliga history to score nine goals in his first six appearances in the competition. What’s even more staggering about his record that his first two appearances were from the substitutes bench. He has 12 goals in eight matches in all competitions for BVB.
Dan-Axel Zagadou had opened the scoring for Lucien Favre’s side in the 52nd minute against the Green-Whites. The defender became the 16th different player to score in the league for Dortmund this season. Jadon Sancho laid on his 15th assist of the season in the Bundesliga to take the England international to the top of the assists table. In his last 12 Bundesliga matches, Sancho has been involved in a staggering 19 goals (10 goals, 9 assists).
Victory for Borussia Dortmund keeps them four points behind leaders Bayern Munich after 23 games.
