Borussia Dortmund will break new ground next season when the German Bundesliga giants will wear two separate sponsors on their shirt.
The North Rhine-Westphalia club will continue with specialty chemicals group Evonik on the front of their shirt for next season, and will be joined by telecommunications company 1&1.
That’s because BVB have today announced a five-year agreement with 1&1 from the start of the 2020-21 season for friendly matches abroad, international competitions and the DFB Pokal.
As well as shirt sponsorship, 1&1 will have an extensive advertising package at all Bundesliga home matches. This deal is expected to raise further revenue for the club, who are already the second biggest in Germany.
Borussia Dortmund will be looking to impress their new sponsors when they travel to Werder Bremen on Saturday 22 February looking for a further three points to keep them in this season’s title race. Two days ago Lucien Favre’s side beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 at Signal Iduna Park in the first leg of their Champions League Round of 16 tie.
