Borussia Dortmund captain Marco Reus is expected to be out for several weeks after suffering a muscle injury in Tuesday night’s DFB Pokal exit at the hands of Werder Bremen.
The 30-year-old was replaced in the closing minutes of the 2-3 loss at the Weser Stadium and the club have announced that the initial prognosis isn’t too promising. The medical team have estimated that Reus will be out of action for four weeks before he can return to training.
That means Marco Reus will be absent for the weekend’s trip to Bayer 04 Leverkusen and be in doubt to face former club Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday 7 March, Perhaps more importantly, the German international will be absent for the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie versus Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday 18 February.
Marco Reus has scored 11 goals and assisted five more in his 19 Bundesliga appearances (18 starts) this season. He also played the full 90 minutes in the four Champions League group stage matches he started.
