New Bundesliga leaders RB Leipzig travel to Borussia Dortmund this evening in the biggest fixture of the midweek action.
Julian Nagelsmann’s side went top of the table following their 3-0 win at Fortuna Düsseldorf on Saturday evening, followed up by VfL Wolfsburg’s late 2-1 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund are down in third, four points behind the league leaders.
The two lineups for this evening’s game at Signal Iduna Park are confirmed as:
Roman Bürki; Manuel Akanji, Mats Hummels, Dan-Axel Zagadou; Achraf Hakimi, Julian Weigl, Julian Brandt, Raphael Guerreiro; Thorgan Hazard, Marcos Reus, Jadon Sancho
Substitutes: Jacob Bruun Larsen, Marwin Hitz, Łukasz Piszczek, Mateu Morey, Leonardo Balerdi, Nico Schulz, Mahmoud Dahoud, Mario Götze, Paco Alcácer
Lucien Favre goes with a back three to welcome high-scoring RB Leipzig on Tuesday evening as Manuel Akanji and Dan-Axel Zagadou will play either side of Mats Hummels. The Swiss head coach has pace down the wings with Achraf Hakimi and Raphael Guerreiro bomb on from their wingback roles.
Julian Wiegl and Julian Brandt will look to control the ball in the middle of the park and win it back from the opposition and then feed the front three of Thorgan Hazard, Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus, with the latter playing the false number nine.
Péter Gulácsi; Nordi Mukiele, Lukas Klostermann, Dayot Upamecano, Marcel Halstenberg; Marcel Sabitzer, Diego Demme, Konrad Laimer; Emil Forsberg; Yussuf Poulsen, Timo Werner
Substitutes: Yvon Mvogo, Ethan Ampadu, Christopher Nkunku, Amadou Haidara, Stefan Ilsanker, Hannes Wolf, Ademola Lookman, Matheus Cunha, Patrik Schick
Julian Nagelsmann recalls Yussuf Poulsen to the starting lineup to partner Timo Werner in a lethal Leipzig attack. Emil Forsberg will play just off the front two.
Péter Gulácsi can expect a busy evening himself between the sticks in a game we expect to be end to end with goals galore.
