Dutch Eredivisie side Vitesse have signed Riechedly Bazoer from VfL Wolfsburg.
Neither club has decided to disclose terms of the transfer.
Bazoer was a highly-rated talent at Ajax when he broke through into their first team as a teenager. He originally joined the Amsterdam-based club from rivals PSV Eindhoven as a 15-year-old.
Wolfsburg signed the holding midfielder in January 2017 for a reported €12 million, playing in 12 of the Wolves’ 19 Bundesliga appearances for the remainder of the campaign. However, Bazoer failed to hold his place down in his first full season in Germany, making just 13 league appearances in 2017-18.
He was subsequently loaned to FC Porto last season but failed to turn out for the first team and after two appearances for the Portuguese giants reserves he was recalled and sent out to FC Utretcht in his homeland.
Returning to a top half club in his country of birth could help Riechedly Bazoer find the form that previously earned his six caps for the Netherlands national team. At 22 years old he still has plenty of time on his side to move back to one of Europe’s elite leagues.
