Bayern Munich have signed a pair of highly-rated 16-year-olds from English Premier League side Chelsea.
Jamal Musiala and Bright Arrey-Mbi arrive to the German champions from West London – the latest teenagers to leave English shores for Germany in recent years. Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho being the most high-profile of those. Both of these signings are returning to their homeland.
Stuttgart-born Musiala moved to Chelsea from TSV Lehnerz in 2011. He has represented England at under-15s and under-16s but has also represented Germany’s U16s twice. He is a number 10 by trade but has also played up front, making three appearances for Chelsea’s under-18s last season.
Bright Arrey-Mbi was born near Dusseldorf and went on to represent England at under-15 level before switching allegiances to Germany at under-16 level where he currently has five caps. He plies his trade as a centre-back and was part of the Chelsea under-18s side that won the Premier League at their level in 2017-18.
