Eintracht Frankfurt have announced the signing of full-back Erik Durm from relegated English Premier League side Huddersfield Town.
The 27-year-old has signed a four-year deal at the Commerzbank-Arena.
Durm previously made 97 appearances for Borussia Dortmund between 2013-18 and was part of Joachim Low’s German national team that won the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. Durm spent last season with Huddersfield Town in England but couldn’t help the side avoid relegation to the second tier. He was only signed to a one-year deal at the John Smith’s Stadium, allowing him to return to his homeland on a free transfer this summer.
Adi Hütter’s Eintracht Frankfurt finished seventh in the Bundesliga last season and will see the capture of the seven time German international as a solid signing. Durm offers good experience and anticipation in defence, though it must be said he’s not the best crosser of the ball – he registered just one assist in 28 league appearances last season.
