SC Freiburg have agreed a deal to sign Wooyeong Jeong from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old South Korean forward has signed a long-term contract with the Breisgau-Brasilianer.
Jeong made 29 league appearances for the Bayern Munich reserves, scoring 13 goals in the Regionalliga Bayern in 2018-19 after joining in January 2018. He made his sole Champions League for the first team in a group stage game as an 81st minute substitute against Benfica. His sole Bundesliga appearance for the record champions of Germany in the final four minutes in their 5-1 win at Borussia Monchengladbach at the start of March.
Jeong is now looking for regular first-team football at Freiburg, stating:
“I had a great time at FC Bayern and would like to thank everyone at the FC Bayern Campus for helping me over the past year and a half and making it so easy to settle into like in Germany. I’m now looking forward to a new challenge in the Bundesliga with SC Freiburg.”
SC Freiburg finished 13th in the Bundesliga last season and kick off their 2019-20 campaign at home to Saturday 17 August.
Wooyeong Jeong will be competing with Luca Waldschmidt, Nils Petersen, Lucas Holer, Florian Niederlechner and Tim Kleindienst for first team football at the Schwarzwald-Stadion.
