Bayer 04 Leverkusen have announced the signing of Daley Sinkgraven from Dutch Eredvisie champions Ajax.
The 23-year-old has signed a four-year deal at the BayArena keeping him at the club until 30 June 2023.
Sinkgraven had been with the Dutch giants since signing from Heerenveen in 2014. The first choice left-back for two seasons, he made only 10 league appearances over the past two seasons. Bayern Leverkusen have offered the former Netherlands Under-21 international a chance to kickstart his career under fellow countryman and former manager at Ajax, Peter Bosz.
Bayer 04 sporting director Simon Rolfes commented:
“Daley Sinkgraven is a very accomplished player technically. With his ability to read the game and quality, he’ll fit in perfectly with our squad. Beyond that, Daley already knows how our coach Peter Bosz likes to play and they both worked very well together in the time they were at Ajax.”
Daley Sinkgraven is a good tackler who likes to bring the ball forward from left-back. He delivers a good cross from out wide – providing five assists in his 24 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax during the 2016-17 season under Bosz in Amsterdam.
The Dutch defender has been handed the number 22 shirt for the upcoming season. He also played in central midfield under Bosz during their time at Ajax together.
