Eintracht Frankfurt have completed the signing of Serbian forward Dejan Joveljic from Red Star Belgrade.
The 19-year0old has signed a five-year contract at the Commerzbank-Arena, keeping him at the Eagles until 30 June 2024.
Joveljic scored eight goals and provided two assists in his 17 in the Serbian SuperLiga last season.
Eintracht Frankfurt board member Fredi Bobic is optimistic about Dejan Joveljic’s future, telling the club’s official website:
“Dejan is a very good centre forward who is versatile and also able to play as a wide attacker. Obviously he’s still young and still has things to learn, but we’re very optimistic that he’ll settle quickly here in Frankfurt. We’ll hopefully have a lot of games in the coming season so I’m sure Dejan will get the chance to show what he can do.”
Dejan Joveljic also appeared in UEFA Champions League group stage matches against Paris Saint-Germain and Napoli last season as he continues to gain invaluable experience.
The teenager is part of Goran Djorovic’s Serbian side for the upcoming European Under-21 Championships in Serbia and Italy later this month where he will be alongside Luka Jovic, who recently left Eintracht Frankfurt to join Real Madrid. Joveljic was born in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Generally a centre-forward, Dejan Joveljic can also play as a winger.
