Bayern Munich have announced that Rafinha will be leaving the Allianz Arena at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old defender has spent the past eight years at the record champions of Germany since joining from Genoa in 2011.
Rafinha had been a regular first team player for many of his seasons in Bavaria but only made 16 Bundesliga appearances (9 starts) this past season – switching between right-back and left-back. However, Bayern Munich have already agreed deals to sign right-back Benjamin Pavard from VfB Stuttgart and Lucas Hernandez from Atletico Madrid over the summer.
The Brazilian could win his seventh Bundesliga title in eight seasons with Bayern Munich this weekend when Niko Kovac’s side face EIntracht Frankfurt with a two point lead over Borussia Dortmund heading into the final game. The Brazilian could also win his fourth DFB Cup later in the month and was part of the Bayern Munich squad that won the 2013 UEFA Champions League.
