1899 Hoffenheim have completed their first signing of the summer as the Kraichgau-based club have agreed a deal with Jahn Regensburg for Sargis Adamyan.
The 25-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena until 30 June 2022.
Adamyan has worked his way up the divisions and really impressed in the second tier over the past two seasons after the Armenian joined the Red Shorts from Regionalliga Südwest outfit TSV Steinbach Haiger in 2017.
Hoffenheim director of football Alexander Rosen believes his club have signed an exciting talent, telling the club’s official website:
”Sargis has won plaudits at Jahn Regensburg in the second tier due to his exceptional pace and excellent statistical record. He is a very exciting player, who will take on his initial role as a squad player for us with real relish. I am confident that he can be a genuine revelation for us next season.”
Sargis Adamyan was born in Armenia but moved to Germany at the age of five. He came through the youth system at third tier Hansa Rostock and bounced around the regional leagues before proving himself at Jahn Regensburg over the past two years.
The 14-time Armenian international scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 33 2. Bundesliga appearances this past season.
