1. FSV Mainz 05 striker Adam Szalai has been named Hungarian Footballer of the Year 2012 by football writers in his home country.
The Hungarian has been in great form in 2012 after spending nearly 12 months on the sidelines after tearing his cruciate and medial ligaments the previous year.
The 25-year old has 14 caps for the national team and has been a key part of the Mainz 05 side this season, as their club top scorer with 9 goals.
Adam Szalai fought off competition from Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Adam Bogdan and Hannover 96 winger Szabolcs Huszti to win the award.
