Bayern Munich forward Thomas Müller has signed a two-year extension to his current contract that will keep the German international stay at the club until 30 June 2017.
The 23-year old who broke through during the 2009/10 season had a previous deal that was due to expire at the end of the 2014/14 season.
Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge expressed the importance of Müller in the Bayern team:
“Thomas Müller is a homegrown FC Bayern player. He was trained here and has developed into a very important player. We’re very happy to have extended his contract by two years. It’s further proof of how much Thomas Müller is a part of FC Bayern Munich.”
Thomas Müller has 38 caps for the German national team and is in the form of his life this season with 9 Bundesliga goals and 7 assists during the first half of the season.
