Schalke 04 were handed a bitter blow on Wednesday evening after it was confirmed that forward Jefferson Farfan will be out for a few weeks with a knee injury.
The former PSV Eindhoven star was substituted whilst playing for Peru against Ecuador midweek and tests later confirmed Farfan had suffered a partial knee ligament tear.
Doctors have advised Jefferson Farfan to rest his knee for around 4 weeks and follow it up with a 2 week regeneration plan that will rule the pacey Schalke star out until the new year.
Schalke 04 play host to FC Nürnberg on Saturday in round 13 of the Bundesliga.
