Michael Oenning has been relieved of his duties as Hamburger SV head coach, the club has announced.
Hamburger SV have picked up just 1 point from their opening 6 games this season and have not won since Matchday 27 of last season.
Sporting director Frank Arnesen released the following statement:
“After the 0-1 defeat against Mönchengladbach and following intensive discussions over the past couple of days, we came to the conclusion that this decision was inevitable. The search for Michael Oenning’s replacement begins in earnest today. In the meantime, Rodolfo has our full support.”
Oenning won just 1 of his 14 Bundesliga games in charge.
Rodolfo Cardoso will take over the first team on an interim basis.
